It is an affection, classed among the redhibitory vices of the horse, which corresponds to a dilatation of the pulmonary alveoli.
The clinical signs are:
- Difficulty breathing: wheezing, increase in amplitude of the movements of the diaphragm and the ribs,
- Cough, dry,
- Degradation of the general state,
- Difficulty in effort: the animal is dusty.
- The evolution can lead to the death of the animal or to a chronic phase. The treatment is based on bronchodilators, antitussives, aspirin, corticosteroids ...
The prevention is the same as in the allergic affections (placing in the pre if possible, suppress the dusty litters ...)
